On October 1, 2015, client James Coleman, II, was awarded 11.5 million dollars in the Jefferson County Circuit Court for severe and disabling injuries he sustained due to the negligence and recklessness of a drunk driver. Mr. John Wilbers obtained a confidential settlement early in litigation with the co-defendant dram shop, who served liquor to the visibly intoxicated co-defendant prior to his operation of a motor vehicle and resulting car accident involving client James Coleman.

Due to the Defendants’ negligence, Mr. Coleman sustained a spinal cord injury, tetraplegia, C3 and C5 vertebral fractures, paralysis, cranial face fractures, closed head injury, left orbit fracture, nasal fracture, and multiple lacerations. Mr. Coleman, who was thirty eight years old on the date of the accident and gainfully employed, sustained approximately $867,000.00 in future lost wages and is expected to incur over $4,000,000.00 in future medical care and living assistance.

The judgment obtained by John Wilbers, The Wilbers Law Firm, LLC, is anticipated to be one of the highest judgments obtained resulting from a motor vehicle collision in Missouri in 2015.
